Celerity’s near-term science-based emissions reduction target approved

Celerity is proud to announce that its near-term science-based emissions reduction target has been approved by the Science Based Target initiative.

The climate is in a state of emergency. Described by the UN as "code red for humanity", we are dangerously close to exceeding the 1.5°C threshold for global temperature rises. Urgent action is needed - rapid and deep emissions cuts, halving global emissions before 2030 and achieving net-zero before 2050, are critical. The Science Based Target initiative ensures that organisation's climate actions are in line with the latest science.

Jane Evans, Business Operations Director at Celerity said:

"I am delighted that Celerity’s near-term science-based emissions reduction target has been approved by the Science Based Target initiative, as it highlights our commitment to our sustainability goals and ambitions.

The compliance team will continue to strengthen this important work by working alongside our partners and will allow Celerity to continue to be a committed supplier to our customers."

Karen Lightfoot, Celerity's Compliance and Data Protection Officer added:

"Climate Change – we all need to do our bit! I am very pleased to confirm that the Science Based Targets initiative has approved Celerity’s near-term science-based emissions reduction target.

Not only does having an approved target give us something to work towards as a business, but it also demonstrates Celerity’s commitment to reducing energy consumption and harmful emissions. At a time when it has become vital to tackle global emissions, I would encourage others to commit to setting science-based targets too."
