About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Software Asset Manager with a strong background in IBM and Red Hat licensing models. The ideal candidate will have expertise in software asset management (SAM) tools, particularly IBM License Metric Tool (ILMT) and Flexera, to ensure compliance, optimised licensing, and manage software assets efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee software asset management processes for various products, including IBM and Red Hat, ensuring compliance with licensing agreements and industry best practices.
- Manage and optimize the use of ILMT and Flexera tools for license tracking, reporting, and cost management.
- Conduct licensing audits and assessments to maintain compliance with vendor agreements and regulatory requirements, including health checks of customer environments.
- Work closely with procurement, IT, and finance teams to optimize software asset utilization and cost-effectiveness.
- Maintain accurate software inventory records and monitor license usage.
- Support contract negotiations and renewals for IBM and Red Hat software.
- Provide recommendations on license optimization and cost savings.
- Stay up to date with changes in IBM and Red Hat licensing models and policies.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for effective software asset management.
Key Requirements
- Proven experience in software asset management, with a focus on IBM and Red Hat products. Microsoft and Oracle experience is a plus.
- Strong expertise in ILMT and Flexera tools for license tracking and compliance.
- Deep understanding of IBM Passport Advantage, Red Hat subscriptions, and associated licensing models.
- Experience conducting software audits and compliance assessments.
- Understanding of cloud licensing models and how these reflect into cost efficiencies.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CSAM, ITIL, IBM ILMT Certification) are a plus.
